Dolores Laverne Grant, 84, Nevada, MO passed from this life on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Nevada Nursing and Rehab in Nevada. Dolores was born on June 7, 1931 in Chicago, IL. She was united in marriage to Albert R. Grant and he preceded her in death on December 16, 1981. Dolores grew up in Chicago and for a time was a member of the Chicago Thunderbird Roller Derby Team. In 1977 she came to Nevada and has resided here since that time. Dolores began working for the Nevada R-5 Schools as a bus driver and continued to drive for 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her dog and watching birds.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
