Wilma Louise Coffman, 97, passed from this life on Friday, November 13, 2015 at her home in Nevada, MO. She was born on June 29, 1918 in LaDue, Missouri to James Newton and Lena Belle (Gross) Maddox. She married LeRoy W. Coffman on January 29, 1944 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1991.
At the age of six months, Wilma moved to Nevada with her family. She attended Franklin School, Nevada High School and graduated from Cottey College. Wilma was a long time secretary for Renwick Insurance Agency. She and LeRoy lived in Wichita, KS for a while before returning to Nevada. They had one daughter, Christina Coffman McElroy, who passed away on October 24, 2005. She was a long time member of the Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Athenas.
Wilma is survived by two grandsons, Will Coffman McElroy (Samantha), Lufkin, TX, and Scott Cousley McElroy (Jenna), Austin TX; and one great-grandson, Christian Sawyer McElroy, Austin, TX. She also leaves behind many close friends and will be dearly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, MO. Friends may call now and until one hour before the service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
