Billy Gean Barnard, 77, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, July 8, 2016 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with burial in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 at the Atkinson Funeral Home. Billy was born July 21, 1938 in Cass County, Missouri, the son of Clyde Velmer and Kate Christina (Eifert) Barnard, Sr. He worked as an auto mechanic for Busy Bee Salvage in Harrisonville for 45 years before retiring. He enjoyed tinkering with all types of machinery and was an avid collector of everything.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clyde V. Barnard, Jr. and Robert Lee Barnard and Robert’s wife, Ruth Ann Barnard; three sisters, Dorothy Barnard, Betty Huggins, Kathryn Barnard, and a sister-in-law, Mickie Barnard.
He is survived by two brothers, Ira C. Barnard and his wife, Lavonne, Adrian, Missouri, and James W. Barnard, Sr., El Dorado Springs, Missouri; one sister, Rose McAllister, Harrisonville, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
