Raymond L. McCann 79, of Raymore, Missouri passed away June 20,
2016 at his home in Raymore. Cremation with private family memorial
services will be held.

Raymond Lawrence McCann was born June 3, 1937 in Idaho Falls, Idaho
to Wilbur and Ada Pauline Green McCann. He grew up in Weld County,
Colorado where he enlisted in he US Air Force during the Korean
Conflict. During his time in the service he was stationed at Okinawa.
Following his honorable discharge in 1957 he was united in marriage to
Margaret Esser on November 30, 1957. Raymond worked as an inspector for
GM at the Fairfax, Kansas plant for over 30 years, earning the nickname
“Big Mac” and retiring in 1992. Following his retirement he built a
home and began raising cattle on a farm near Drexel, Missouri. His
favorite memories were made on that farm, especially those made with his
grandson. Raymond was a long-time member of the Worship Center church
in Harrisonville, Missouri. He was very active beginning in 1987, even
building a fountain with rocks from his own farm. Raymond moved to
Raymore in 2014 to live with his daughter. It was in this home that he
was able to say his good-byes surrounded by loving family.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ruth McCann,
and by a brother Theodore McCann. He is survived by daughters Mikalyn
Knepp of Raymore, MO, and Tracy Hess of Falcon, CO, by a son Raymond
McCann, II of Lee’s Summitt, MO, grandchildren, Michael Todd, Hillary
Williams, Hannah Hess, Lauren Fracassa, Kristen Knepp, Jonathan Knepp,
and Cabryn Dugger, along with five great-grandchildren.
The family
