FAIRFAX, Va. -- The National Rifle Association Tuesday announced it has endorsed Democrat Chris Koster for Missouri governor.
Koster faces off this November against Republican and former Navy Seal Eric Greitens.
“Chris Koster has never wavered from his Second
Amendment beliefs," Chris W. Cox, chairman, NRA-Political Victory Fund.
"For more than 17 years, he has fought to preserve the constitutional
rights of law-abiding Missourians."
Koster earned the "A" rating from the NRA for
what the group calls a commitment to the Second Amendment. The NRA
notes his work as a state senator for Missouri's Right-to-Carry
proposition. The NRA also praised his work as Missouri's attorney
general.
The NRA is proud to endorse Chris Koster and we
urge Missouri’s gun owners and sportsmen to get out this November and
vote to elect a governor with a proven record of fighting to preserve
the Second Amendment,” said Cox.
The NRA also announced endorsements for
Republican Lieutenant Governor candidate Mike Parson, Republican
attorney general candidate Josh Hawley, Republican Secretary of State
candidate Jay Ashcroft and Republican Sate Treasurer candidate Eric
Schmitt.
