Johnette Jean (Gunier) Smith, age 63 years, passed away at 6:00am on Saturday, September 10, 2016, in her home surrounded by loved ones. A Memorial Service will be at 3:00pm Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, MO. There will be a visitation in the Fellowship Hall following the services. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Johnette Jean Smith Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the funeral home. Born in 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa, Johnette served in the United States Air Force until she was honorably discharged to become a full time stay at home mom. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Eastern New Mexican University where she graduated Cum Laude. Her passion in college was the theater and she sang and acted in many theater productions. Johnette devoted her time to her seven grandchildren. She enjoyed football, baseball, reading, and watching syfy/comedy movies. Her favorite color was pink, and she loved teddy bears.

Johnette is survived by her daughters and their husbands; Sarah and Alfred Farrell, Diana and Jacob Lewis, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Caleb, Korbin, Isabella, Allie, Katie, Manny, and Sam.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
