Arrest made in stolen trees case
On December 19, 2016 Deputies from the Bates County Sheriff’s
Office arrested Jason A. Gillis (DOB 4/19/1985) in connection to the stolen walnut trees that was reported last week.
On December 20, 2016 Gillis was formally charged with Receiving Stolen Property, a Class C Felony. His bond was set at $10,000.00 with 10% cash, no surety allowed. More charges are expected to be filed against Gillis at a later date.
