Garden City Police Arrest Armed Burglar

Earlier this evening, officers of the Garden City Police Department were alerted to a 51 year old Garden City man who was attempting to break into a house in the 300 block of Spruce Street. When officers contacted the man, he was armed with a handgun and a hatchet. 

The man was ordered to drop the handgun, but refused and officers deployed a Taser which had little effect. 

After a short foot chase and struggle the man was taken into custody. The man was transported to the Cass County Jail.
