Kay was born June 30, 1944 in rural Bates County, Missouri, the daughter of Morland and Bonnie (Sterns) Christopher. She was a Christian and a member of the United Methodist Church in Passaic, Missouri. On January 22, 1965, she married Hershel Cole and raised three children, Jay Warren, Dusty Warren, and Dondria (Cole) McGuire. She was employed as a hair dresser early on in life and also worked as an activity director at Adrian Manor. Her most rewarding job was that of a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Kay’s favorite hobby was that of traveling. She especially enjoyed taking her family and friends on cruises to the Caribbean to her favorite stop at Cozumel and shopping for the perfect ring. She also enjoyed shopping of any kind; rather it be on QVC, searching for that magic face cream, or trips to the city to find new home décor. She took pride in herself and in her home, but most of all, family was her favorite past time. She loved her husband, kids, and grandchildren unconditionally and spent her days showering them with love.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Darla Ficklin. She is survived by her husband, Hershel Cole of Adrian. She is also survived by her children, Jay Warren (Sharon), Dusty Warren (Annette), Dondria McGuire (Doug), all of Butler Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Aaron Warren (Courtney), Dylan Warren, Carlie Warren, D.J. Warren, Hailey Burgess, Ben Burgess, Breanne (Breezy) McLay (James), and Peyton McGuire; 5 great-grandchildren, Erin Warren, Madison and Cole Priest, Kyson Burgess, and Landon McLay; one brother, Keith Christopher (Lisa), and sister, Misty Christopher.
