He worked for Freddy Van’s Construction in Pittsburg for over 13 years. He was very funny and was the best story teller. Darryl lived life his own way. He greatly loved his children.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Skaggs, Branson, MO; two sons, Ashby Skaggs, Fort Scott, KS, and Erich Skaggs, Harrison, AR; a brother, Billy Skaggs and wife Gwen, Ft. Scott; three sisters, Dianna Gill and husband Mike, Pleasanton, KS, Roxy Cave and husband Charles, Delaware, and Dawn Wood and husband Dean, Casper, WY; ex-wife and friend, Delphia Gomez; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Skaggs; and his parents.
There was cremation. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 Saturday, January 14th, at the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, KS 66701. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com
