Also in plain view was a syringe, a pipe and a can that what appeared to have a crystal residue inside of it. The Deputies were able to wake up the occupants of the vehicle and had them exit it.
The driver, identified as Charles Bailey (DOB 6/29/1989), gave the Deputies consent to search the vehicle and his person. During the Deputies pat down of Bailey he located a small bag in his pocket. The bag contained a white crystal substance that later field tested positive for Methamphetamine. During the Deputies search of the vehicle they located more small bags containing methamphetamine residue and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
All of the items belonged to Bailey so the passenger of the vehicle was released from the scene. Bailey was transported to the Bates County Jail. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, Possession of a Controlled Substance except 35 grams or less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bonds were set at $10000.00 cash or surety.
