Update on Esser Family Fire in Henry County

Thank you to everyone who has donated money, brought clothes and toys by the Sheriff's Office for the Esser Family. The Deputy Esser was working Saturday night in Windsor and his wife, Tiffany (who is also an employee of the Sheriff's Office) was at home with their five children. Just after midnight, the family awakened to smoke in the house and Tiffany and their oldest daughter were able to get everyone out of the house safely.

The Eldorado Springs Volunteer Fire Department responded and did an outstanding job of saving some of the structure although there was heavy smoke and water damage. They did not have insurance on their home.
Since the fire, the Esser's are in the process of relocating to family property near Osceola. They have received much needed financial assistance and clothing donations from many people throughout the community thus far. Their main need at this time is for twin beds and linens for the children.
The Esser's are grateful for the huge outpouring of support for them and their family thus far. If you would like to donate any furniture items, you may call the Sheriff's Office at 660-885-7300 during regular business hours and we will make arrangements to pick it up.
Thank you everyone for your donations, prayers and support during this time of need for our family at the Sheriff's Office.
