On 2/4/17 around 3:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriffs Deputies, Bates County EMS and Amoret Fire Department responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri Y Highway around one mile North of County Road 3002 in rural Amoret.The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2009 Chevrolet Impala driven by 76 year old Alvin L. Wiley of Amoret, Missouri was traveling South on Route Y when he traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
The vehicle became airborne, crossed a field entrance and struck the ground. The vehicle returned to the roadway and traveled to the residence of Mr. Wiley.
Alvin L. Wiley sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by private vehicle to the Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle received extensive damages and it was driven to the owners residence.
