Obituary - Thelma Lucille Kennedy

Thelma Lucille Kennedy, 91, Richards, MO departed this life on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Thelma was born September 4, 1925 in Moundville, MO to Eric and Amanda (Kuhlman) Fengler. She was united in marriage to Wayne Alden Kennedy on November 24, 1945 and he survives of the home.

Thelma graduated from Bronaugh High School then attended Springfield Business College for two years. Thelma worked for the Law Office of Bill McCaffree, Sr. in Nevada for several years. Following her marriage to Wayne they made their home on a farm in the Metz area where she was the go-to person for the farm. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nevada. Thelma taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She loved gardening, sewing, doting on her grandchildren, and traveling (she has even been to Hawaii).

In addition to her husband Wayne she is survived by two daughters, Donna (Darrell) Adams, Greenfield, MO, Janet (Allen) Bley, Moundville, MO; grandchildren, Christi (Marty) Miller, Nevada, Bennie Adams, Nevada, Jennifer (Travis) Eaton, Nevada, Nicole (Nate) Garrett, Asbury, MO; six great-grandchildren, Hailee Miller, Hanna Miller, Peyton Eaton, Hunter Eaton, Ava Garrett, Trace Garrett; and one sister, Wilma Snyder, Bronaugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Clara Ingles, one brother, Edward “Ed” Fengler.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Bill Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Nevada in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
