Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 17 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
August was born September 7, 1927 in St. Louis, MO, the son of August Harold and Eleanor (Seidl) Weber. He grew up in St. Louis, where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Marines at age 17, serving during WWII, and re-enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He served in the military for 20 years before retiring July 1, 1966.
August married Mary Lou Cronin on May 17, 1952 in Bridgeton, MO. They lived in Grandview, MO before moving to Belton, MO, where they have lived for 37 years. After August retired from the Military, he went to work for the Civil Service at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base until it closed, retiring in October, 1978. After the base closed, he worked for the Grandview School District until 1992. August was a member of the DAV and St. Sabina Catholic Church in Belton.
August was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, of the home; four sons, James “Jim” Weber, Belton, MO, Mark Weber, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Larry Weber, Belton, and Jeffrey Weber (Jauna), Harrisonville, MO; two daughters, Karen Wooldridge (John), Raymore, MO and Diane Machal (Chris Stites, fiancĂ©), Freeman, MO; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
