Strong Thunderstorms Expected Today

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center forecasts a marginal to slight risk of severe storms for mostly northwest Missouri this evening and tonight.

But thunderstorms are likely across much of the state.

Remember, thunderstorms can be deadly because of the lightning they bring with them.

Over the years, lightning has killed more people than tornadoes or hurricanes, according to the National Weather Service. That's why we say, "When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors." That's good advice every day, and certainly tonight, when many will be enjoying this weekend's mild temperatures. Please follow your local forecast and put safety first!
