Butler Music is moving to a new location on 2205 291 Highway in Harrisonville , Missouri and we are looking for several people to fill positions in the new store for different starting dates. Here are some of the positions we have available:
1 or 2 - Handyperson(s) - summer helper(s) -- PART TIME-- Starting date May 22nd -- Right after school lets out. I am looking for one or two strong, motivated young people to help us with cleaning, handyperson type work, painting, setup, moving, minor lawn work, putting up shelves, setting up store displays, and whatever else is needed to get the new Butler Music store ready to be opened some time in July. Monday through Friday, at least 20 hours a week, possibly up to 35 hours a week, pay $8.00 per hour with possible bonus at the end of the summer and offer of continued employment if you do a good job. NOTE: This could be a perfect summer job for a High School or college student looking for something to do over the summer. I can work around summer sports practices , a summer vacation, and other events for the right applicant. Driver's License a plus.
1 - person full time - Starting late June to early July -- Shipping department. Position is for shipping and receiving several items on a daily basis. Winning applicant must be detail oriented , able to handle neatly packing up to 100 orders a day without mistakes, able to learn on the job, have decent reading skills, and winning applicant should have at least a passing knowledge of musical instruments. Very little weekend work, time & 1/2 for overtime, paid vacation/sick time, paid holidays. $10.00 per hour to start.
1- person full time - Starting mid to late June - Music store shift leader. The person in this position would need an extensive background in sales, customer service, musical instruments and musical instrument sales, and handling of employees. This person would be in charge of the retail sales floor during their shift, including overseeing all part time employees working the shift, making sure all phones get answered, making sure all customers get taken care of, handling any questions, plus handling openings and closings on weekend shifts and closings on weekday shifts. Average hours are 40-45 hours a week and starting pay is $12.00 per hour, plus commission on all sales you ring up, plus a commission on all sales rung up by all part timers on your shift, plus a commission on all setup , string change or tech work done by you during your shift, plus a bonus based on profitability. This position does have evening and weekend hours but there will be two shift leaders working separate shifts so you will not be working every weekend. Plus, there are paid holidays, paid vacation/sick time and a possible year end bonus as well as generous employee merchandise discounts.
3-5 - persons part time - Starting late June to early July -- Music store retail sales. Qualified applicant must play music well, guitar or other stringed instruments preferred, and must have good general music knowledge. We are looking for go getters with lots of music knowledge, hopefully people who are in bands or play on a regular basis . Starting pay per hour is only $8.00 but we have a creative commission and bonus program on top of that , that would allow the right person to make pretty good part time money . Plus, we will work with your gig schedule and we have generous employee discounts on gear and accessories for all employees and it is a fun to work in atmosphere. Another plus is that if you are qualified enough to do string changes and minor tech work , we will pay you extra for that type of work and train you to do additional guitar setup and tech work which pays additional money down the road.
