Clinton man arrested in assault case

An arrest warrant has been issued for John Robert Scott, age 25, of Clinton, Missouri, for the class B felony of First Degree Assault, in connection with an incident that occurred on SE BB Highway, south of Brownington, on Friday morning, May 5th, 2017. 

In a complaint filed with the Henry County Associate Circuit Court early Monday morning by the Henry County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, John Robert Scott allegedly pointed a shotgun outside of a motor vehicle and shot at the victim. In the Probable Cause Statement submitted by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, it detailed that the victim was struck by one of the gunshots, receiving non-life-threatening injuries. Bond was set on the warrant at $ 50,000 dollars. 

John Robert Scott is currently incarcerated at the Henry County Detention Center. “There are several other incidents still under investigation at this time, which we believe are connected. Upon completion of these investigations, they will be submitted to the Henry County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, for review of possible additional charges being filed.
