Rich Hill man arrested on assault

On Friday May 6, 2017 Deputies were dispatched to 422 South 6th Street in Rich Hill Mo in reference to a report of a subject that threatens another with a knife and a crowbar.

On arrival the deputies made contact with the victim that stated there was an argument over a for sale sign. 

The victim stated that the suspect, identified as Leon D Berry of Rich Hill, stopped him in the road and began waiving a knife and crowbar around in the air and yelled profanities at him. Berry was warned on a separate occasion by Deputies not to return to the property.

Mr. Berry was located and arrested for the assault. Deputies recovered the crowbar, knife and a pair of brass knuckles from his vehicle. Berry, who is out on bond for Possession of a controlled substance stemming from a search warrant in Butler on Fulton Street, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and bond was set at $5000 cash or surety.
