The Sherwood Board of Education is excited to welcome Dr. Steve Ritter as the superintendent of schools for the 2017-2018 school year

Dr. Ritter has spent the last two years as the Director of Academic and Student Services in the Harrisonville Cass R-IX School District. Before going to Harrisonville, Dr. Ritter was the Principal at Lakeland High School for four years. 

Prior to Lakeland Dr. Ritter was in the Clinton School District for seven years in the roles of a teacher, coach, and high school assistant principal. He began his teaching career at Crest Ridge High School for one year. 

Dr. Ritter earned his Bachelor of Science in Education in Secondary Education / Social Studies, a Master of Science in Education in Secondary Education / Curriculum and Instruction, and Education Specialist in Secondary School Administration from the University of Central Missouri. His Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership is through the University of Missouri - Columbia. 

Dr. Ritter resides in Shawnee Mound with his wife, Katie, and their children Madelynn and Ethan.

Welcome Dr. Ritter, we are excited to have you on our team. His official start date is July, 2017.
