Burglary in progress call leads to three arrests in Amsterdam

On June 14th Deputies responded to Main Street in Amsterdam, MO in reference to a burglary in progress.

Witnesses to the burglary stated that they saw Jason Gillis (DOB 4/19/1985) and Melissa Lane (DOB 12/6/1989) and another male wearing a red shirt stealing propane tanks and some kind of cabinet from the building.

The male wearing the red shirt was later identified as Preston Rose (DOB 1/29/1994). Gillis was riding a four wheeler and pulling a trailer which the suspects loaded the cabinet on to.

The Lieutenant responded to a residence on Elm Street in Amsterdam where he was able to locate a four wheeler and a trailer that was reported to being used in the burglary. He also located two propane tanks and a cabinet that were stolen from the building on Main Street.

Jason Gillis was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree. His bond was set at $50,000.00 cash only.

Melissa Lane was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree. Her bond was also set at $50,000.00 cash only.

Preston Rose was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree. His bond was set at $20,000.00 cash or surety.

Sheriff Anderson would like to thank the witnesses to this burglary. “Without the communities help it would not be easy for us to solve these types of crimes.” Said Sheriff Anderson.
