The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2007 Isuzu driven by 17 year old John M. Hays of Pleasant Hill, Missouri failed to stop at a stop sign, traveled thru a intersection and off the south side of the roadway striking a tree.
Mr. Hays sustained minor injuries and he was transported by ambulance to Lees Summit Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle was towed from the scene by Stever Tow of Pleasant Hill.
