Obituary - Ruth Ann Carpenter

Ruth Ann Carpenter, born November 21, 1938 departed her Earthly life on Saturday, February 25, 2017. She joins her late husband Gary E. Carpenter, son Kenneth Ray Summers, daughter Sonya Carpenter, her mother, father, all 3 of her siblings and many other family members and friends in Heaven.

Ruth is survived by children VaLinda Jones (husband Kent), Fred Summers (fiancée Sherry Zink), Gary (GW) Carpenter (wife Peggy), Bruce Carpenter, Sherry Parsons (husband Dennis), Ryan Carpenter-Hill, Dora Cherry, Patrick Summers, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grand children.

Ruth loved spending time with Gary enjoying their hobby of flying remote controlled gas engine model airplanes. Ruth and Gary were crucial in developing a RC flying field at the LaCygne, Kansas Power Plant Lake. Other hobbies that she enjoyed with Gary were camping, fishing, canoeing, four wheeling, and gardening. She enjoyed spending time in their wood working shop that turned from hobby into a small furniture building business.

Per her instructions, there will be no services. Ruth and Gary’s ashes will be combined as they wished and the family will hold a private service at which time the ashes will be scattered. If you wish to do something in their honor, plant a tree or donate to a local animal shelter as they were both animal lovers.

Ruth held many paying positions in her lifetime but the position of being there for others was probably the most rewarding position of her life. If you had the pleasure of knowing Ruth you had the pleasure of knowing a wonderfully kind, loving and giving person. May she Rest in Peace.
