Virginia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg, and had also belonged to the Allen Street Baptist and First Baptist churches of Clinton for many years. She enjoyed participating in Bible and book study groups, taught Sunday School and tutored young children. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years starting at Clearfield Cheese Company and the family business, Dunning Furniture Store. She held a real estate license, and most recently, worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block in Clinton. Virginia was a wonderful cook. She loved to read and displayed her artistic talents sewing, painting and gardening. Her grandkids were her pride and joy, and she was a constant supporter at their athletic, scholastic and musical activities. Her true gift was constantly making lemons out of lemonade and being a friend to all who met her.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 21, at noon at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri, followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00PM, and burial in Englewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
