Wilma L. Burdick

Wilma L. Burdick 82, of Nevada passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 in Nevada. Wilma was born March 30, 1935 in Nevada, the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Hoover) Hoskins. She graduated from Nevada High School and married Billie Burdick on December 29, 1952.

Wilma worked many years for Nevada Regional Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed gardening, nurturing the hummingbirds at her home and watching NASCAR. She will be remembered by her family as being a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with them.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Billie, her parents, son, Randy, sister Naomi Allen, and brothers, Clarence Hoskins Jr. and Robert Hoskins. She is survived by her children, Karen Pate (Jack) Nevada; Richard Burdick (Sandy) Nevada; Ron Burdick (Betty) Bronaugh; and Kathy Fleener (Terry) Bronaugh; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.

Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Veterans National Cemetery in Ft Scott, KS. A visitation will be 5-7 p.m., on Monday in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel. Wilma may be viewed after 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
