Adrian woman arrested in Bates County

On August 17, 2017 the Bates County Sheriff’s Office received a call asking a Deputy to check the well-being on Johnna Kidwell (DOB 4/28/1978) who was driving a silver Saturn. The Deputy observed Kidwell in the Casey’s parking lot in Adrian, MO. 

An Adrian Officer advised the Deputy that he had seen Kidwell drive the Saturn into the parking lot. The Deputy made contact with Kidwell and asked to speak with her explaining that he was there to check her well-being. Kidwell told the Deputy that she was fine and did not want to speak with him. 

The Deputy had previous knowledge that Kidwell’s driver’s license was revoked and asked her to step out of the vehicle. Kidwell refused and became very belligerent. After several attempts of asking Kidwell to exit the vehicle and her refusing the Deputy assisted her out of the vehicle. After a short struggle Kidwell was taken into custody and was transported to the Bates County Jail.

Kidwell was charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree and with Resisting Arrest. Her bond was set at $4500.00 cash or surety.
