The difficulty was seeing the damage these people have to endure and see the emotional tole it has taken on their lives. Anyone who knows me knows I love my town and the people in it. To see that many people all at once hit so hard was truly heart breaking. I visited the Trade Fair to see a repeat of a few weeks ago, watched our spill way at the dam of lake Luna come the closest it has come to giving way which would have caused enormous devastation.
I watched city crews work at a rapid pace to prevent that and they did. I spent the first few hours of my day helping my wife and other employees at Casco area workshop get water cleaned up from last night's storm so they could open on time. We had citizens that had to be evacuated from homes, thankfully only temporarily. But please do not feel for me, feel for those who have suffered loss from today's flood. They need all of our support.
I will do all that I can to help get resources for those who have been effected by this flood. This is one of those days I wish I had a magic wand.
