From the Raymore Police Department

On Thursday at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers were in the area of 58 Highway and Huntsman when a flash was observed and the sound of a small explosion was heard. 

Out of an abundance of caution, officers closed the road and called KC Bomb Technicians and the ATF. 

ATF agents responded to the scene and are leading the investigation into what they are calling a small improvised explosive device, such as an M80 or M100.
