The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the Dodge Avenger driven by 24 year old Walter R. Thompson of Lexington, Missouri lost traction on a wet roadway and entered into the path and striking the Ford Escape driven by 54 year old Iva A. Shephard of Harrisonville, Missouri.
Both drivers sustained moderate injuries in this accident and both were transported by ambulance to Lafayette Regional Hospital in Lexington, Missouri.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Wilkinson's Tow.
