Closing arguments were heard this afternoon by Judge James Journey in the State's Case against Andrew D. Shores.
Mr. Shores was charged in November of 2015 with rape and sodomy of child under the age of 14. Shores had previously waived his right to a jury trial.
Judge Journey presided over today's proceedings and will determine Shores guilt or innocence based on the evidence and testimony provided.
Prosecutor Hugh C. Jenkins presented the State's case and Shores was represented by Public Defender Casey Symonds from Vernon County, Missouri. Shores previously pleaded guilty in March of 2015 to child molestation charges and was given a sentence of 7 years probation and is a registered sex offender.
Judge Journey is expected to render his decision on this case September 8, at 2:00 p.m. Andrew D. Shores remains in the Bates County Jail.
