Oil Spill in rural Vernon County under investigation

The Vernon County Sheriff's Office along with the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office and Missouri Department of Natural Resources is investigating a recent oil spill near the Missouri/Kansas border in Vernon County.

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher says the spill of an estimated 12,600 gallons of oil was reported July 26th at Running Foxes Petroleum tank farm near Hudson and Soldier Roads in rural Vernon County.
He adds the owner of a neighboring property reported the spill that may resulted from vandalism.
