Upon arrival, Deputies made entry into the residence and discovered 2 individuals located within the residence. One resident, a 49yr old female, Donna Sue Haynes, was deceased and a second resident, a 54yr old male, John E. Hall, had an apparent, self-inflicted gunshot wound. The male was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
While providing aid to the victim(s), several items of interest were observed in plain view.
Deputies applied for and obtained a search warrant for the residence. A search of the residence revealed a marijuana grow operation resulting in a seizure of a vast quantity of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia.
Preliminary investigation, along with, statements made by Hall led Officers to believe this was a murder with a failed suicide attempt. The Benton County Sheriff's Office and the MO State Highway Patrol D.D.C.C. are still investigating this incident.
