The location was a bridge on Southeast County Road 2275 near the intersection with Southeast County Road 365.
The vehicle had struck the side of the bridge, causing tire damage and the front driver-side tire traveled over the side of the bridge.
The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, fell from the vehicle to a stream bed below and sustained numerous injuries. He was transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital and subsequently to Research Medical Center.
The driver, identified as 71-year-old Steven Hawk of Butler, died later in the evening at Research Medical Center as a result of the injuries sustained.
