Thursday night, investigators returned and processed a 2012 Chevrolet Impala recovered in Lexington earlier that afternoon. The vehicle, which was reported stolen by its owner from inside Sedalia, is believed to have been used in the incident.
An autopsy was conducted this morning by the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office in Columbia but preliminary results were not available at the time of this release. Deputies have interviewed a number of witnesses and continue to follow-up on leads in the case.
Pettis County Sheriff Kevin Bond stated that neither the victim nor the two suspects, a white male and a black male, resided at the residence where the shooting occurred. It is believed both suspects have fled the area and are no longer in Sedalia or Pettis County.
