Lots of family reunions have been taking place lately. The Williams family held their reunion on Saturday, August 26 at the Hume Community Center. The Hess family held their reunion on Sunday, September 3 at the Hume Legion Hall.
\On Sunday, September 10, the Ford Family Reunion was held in Sheldon, Mo at the community center. Everett and Karen Irwin, Cathie Wooldridge, Paxton and Easton, Carrie Brooks and Marissa Lantsberger, Isaac Irwin, Virginia Durbin, Doug Durbin, Clayton and Haley attended the carry in dinner. There are only two siblings left Walter Ford and Louella Ford Driskell, Louella was unable to attend due to illness. A great time visiting and lots of delicious food was enjoyed.
A couple of weeks ago Kathy Fairbanks was surprised with a birthday party at the home of her sister, Careen and Ralph Rogers. Happy Birthday, Kathy!
Recently Jason Irwin, Bill Gregory, Jeff Snyder and Steve Brier of the Nevada United Methodist Church participated in the Awareness walk for Men aimed for raising awareness for domestic violence. The men donned women’s shoes and walked seven blocks, they then participated in games and eventually an obstacle course while wearing the women’s shoes. They all had a great time.
Daniel Brooks along with two others from the Heartland Baptist Church in Harrisonville, Mo recently traveled to Houston, Texas to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
The O5O Club will meet on Monday, September 18 at the Hume Community Center for their carry-in dinner at noon. All are welcome to attend.
The County Line 4-H met Wednesday, September 4th at 7 P.M. at the Hume Legion Hall. There were 15 members and 10 adults present. The new officers for the upcoming year are Aubry Terry, President; Harrison Wepener, Vice-President; Karlee Metcalf, Secretary; Shaylee Terry, Treasurer; Braxton Wikoff and Tommy Suctliffe, County Council Representatives; John Armentrout, Reporter, Andrew Wepener and Issac Brooks, Game Leaders; Ben Reed, Song Leader; Abi Reed, Historian/Photographer; Blaiton Terry and Etienne Wepener, Pledge Leaders. Members and adults signed up for committees for the 2017-2018 year.
The club voted to do a 4-H Window Display at the Hume Post Office. Members reported on state and district fair results. Next meeting is scheduled for October 4th at 7 P.M. at the Legion Hall. Braxton Wikoff, Reporter.
