Roy Leo Baumgarden, age 66, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home.He was born May 25, 1951 in Clinton, Missouri the son of Estel and Frances (Williams) Baumgarden.
On December 10, 1983 in Springfield, Missouri he was united in marriage to Judy Marmon, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Courtland Sawyer and his wife Sarah of Pasadena, Maryland and Michael Baumgarden and his wife Samantha of Appleton City, Missouri; three daughters, Maria Baumgarden of Versailles, Missouri, Aleta Henry and her Fiancé Bill Lietz of Shell Knob, Missouri and Katrina Ayler of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, Rodney Baumgarden of Urich, Missouri, Daran Baumgarden and his wife Deanna of Butler, Missouri and James Huffman and his wife Regina of Garden Grove, California; two sisters, Elizabeth Cullison of Butler, Missouri and Robin Burnham of Urich, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Ronald and one sister, Carolyn both in infancy.
Roy grew up and received his education in Clinton, Missouri, where he graduated from high school. During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Navy. For several years he was employed as a truck driver for Milky-Way Transport out of Springfield, Missouri. Four months ago he moved from Urich, Missouri to Shell Knob to make his home. He was a member of Lohmer Full Gospel Church. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, mechanic work and building model ships and airplanes.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob, Missouri.
