"Powerful and Profound": 9/11 Ceremony deemed 'best yet'

and first responders when working together

Honoring those who gave their lives on September 11, 2001 will never be 'routine'. In fact, the annual silent procession and ceremony held last night in Adrian was clearly the most powerful and profound (as stated by an attendee) program held since its inception.
Master of Ceremonies Adrian Fire Chief Gary
Dizney. The Adrian Fire Department has hosted
the event every year since 9/11/2001

Just before 6 pm, a silent procession of fire, police and emergency vehicles made their way through Adrian to the Optimist building where a large crowd gathered for the ceremonies.

Reverend Ray Jones spoke of the dangers
our country faces today and the importance
of maintaining our faith to stay strong as a nation
The program, which lasted about an hour, included a complimentary tribute to not only those who gave their lives on September 11, 2001 but also to our local 'heroes' who diligently give their all each and every day. The event closed with a fitting tribute by our local EMS, fire, and police around the room.

Editor's note- it's difficult to find the words to describe the annual 9/11 event hosted by the Adrian Fire Department... we would highly recommend planning to attend next year to see for yourself.
