Saturday 5K winners announced

Last Saturday,  Miami's FFA and FCCLA hosted a 5K run at the Amsterdam Jubilee themed "For the Health of It". A Buddy Run was also held. The trail started at Leona's Convenience Store at 8 a.m. and wound around the south side of Amsterdam and finished again at Leona's. Ten minutes after the 5K started, the Buddy Run began. Anyone under six years of age accompanied by a registered adult could run or walk to Walnut St. and back. All Buddy Runners were awarded a participation medal. 
Prior to the Sept. 23rd, even, benefits of jogging, walking, and running were read during the daily announcements to the Miami student body. Students were encouraged to train and get the community involved in the healthy lifestyle.
