On October 27th Nevada Police responded to a reported burglary of a business in the 100 block of W. Hunter Street.
During the investigation officers located a window that had been removed where the suspect gained entry into the building and proceeded to steal electronics and furnishings valued at several thousand dollars. Officers were able to obtain video surveillance footage of the suspect in the burglary.
On Monday, October 30th officers located the suspect at a residence in the 600 block of W. Walnut Street, wearing the same clothing worn during the burglary.
The suspect, identified as Christopher A. Purgerson, age 29 of Nevada was taken into custody by Nevada Police and transported to the Vernon County Jail for holding.
On Tuesday, October 31st the following charges were filed against Purgerson through the Vernon County Associate Court:
Burglary 2nd Degree - Class D Felony
Stealing - $750 or More - Class D Felony
Purgerson is being held in the Vernon County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
