In response to several contacts via phone or social media, the Butler RV School District issues the following statement:
The Butler RV School District was made aware of some inappropriate statements made online by a student last Friday. These statements were addressed with the student and handled per our discipline policy.
At no point was the school placed on lockdown. We are fortunate to have a great working relationship with our Police Department, and on Friday there were officers at the school enjoying lunch with the students, which happens rather frequently. The Police Department was made aware of the situation while they were on campus.
The district is not aware of any "hit list" regarding this situation. We appreciate the steadfastness of the public regarding any such information, and encourage anyone with first hand, credible information to contact appropriate school personnel and the police.
