Cards for troops

Every year those in Bates County participate in Operation Christmas Cards for Troops Overseas. This program offers a way for people to support the U.S troops overseas and provide them some Christmas cheer since they can’t be home with their families.

This year the program has started and ends on November 20th. To get involved simply drop off your Christmas Cards (either bought or homemade) or Christmas Care Packages at the Carpenter’s Cup, located at 102 S. Bishop Street in Butler, between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday and 9am and 3pm on Saturday.


Some suggested items for the Christmas Care Packages include personal hygiene items for men and women, nonperishable food such as beef jerky and nuts, homemade goodies that will travel well such as homemade cookies and candy.

The final day to drop off cards and care packages is November 20th!
