Drugs and money found after traffic stop in Harrisonville

On 10-14-2017, Harrisonville Police Officers conducted a traffic stop, in the Harrisonville City Park, of a black GMC Sierra pick-up truck. 

During the traffic stop, the Department’s K-9 Officer Uxo conducted a Free Air Sniff. During that Free Air Sniff, Uxo alerted on the driver side door indicating the presence of narcotics. During the subsequent search of the vehicle, $11,600.00 in cash was found along with over an ounce of Methamphetamine and over 4 ounces of Marijuana. 

The driver, Darin W. Thomas, of Peculiar, MO. was arrested. Darin was charged with 2 counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and given a $35,000.00, 10% cash only bond. Investigators with the Harrisonville Police Department prepared the narcotics for laboratory analysis and completed a property forfeiture for both the $11,600.00 in cash and the GMC truck.
