Nicholas grew up in rural Vernon County and attended school in Bronaugh where he was an eighth grade student.
Nicholas liked sports and played both baseball and basketball. Having grown up in the country he also enjoyed spending as much time as possible outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Laura Rider, of the home; father Rick Rider, Bronaugh; one sister, Katheryn Rider, and two brothers, Christopher Rider, and Samuel Rider, all of the home; maternal grandmother, Rosemary Grady; Prairie Village, KS; aunts, uncles, many cousins, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Lloyd Grady; paternal grandparents, O.C. Rider and Wilda Rider.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Hannon Freewill Baptist in Liberal, MO. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
