The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Chrysler Town and Country driven by 73 year old Vernon L. Howrey of Nevada, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a small group of trees.
Mr. Howrey was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and he was transported to Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Missouri.
The vehicle was damaged and towed from the scene by M&M Towing of Carthage.
This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 5th Fatality Accident of November and the 93rd fatality of 2017.
