Helen Mae Jackson, age 83 of Rich Hill, Missouri died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born February 1, 1934 to George Dewey and Agnes Josephine Stacey Lucas in Kansas City, Missouri.
Helen, one of six children, grew up in Kansas City where she attended school. In 1960 she was united in marriage to Edward Joe Jackson and together they raised six children. Helen worked as a cook for various restaurants in Lee’s Summit, Garden City, Rich Hill and Metz. Helen was a practical jokester, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos, she was a very kind and generous person.
Helen is survived by one son, Robert Wayne Bates and wife Debra of Houston, Missouri; three daughters, Mary Castlebury of Rich Hill, Missouri, Joyce Thompson and husband Raymond of Raymore, Missouri and Debra Entrikin and husband Kenneth of Belton, Missouri; one brother, John Lucas of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a few great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward Joe Jackson; one son, Eddie Jackson Jr.; daughter, Diana Lewis; one brother, George Lucas; and three sisters, Naomi Lucas, Artie Howell and Sue Lucas.
