Traffic stop leads to arrest in Butler

On November 25, 2017 a Deputy observed a Chrysler sedan drive through a red light at the intersection of Fran and Fort Scott in Butler. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

A records check of the driver revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. The Deputy asked the driver and the passengers to exit the vehicle while he conducted a search of the vehicle. 


The Deputy located a set of digital scales that had a white residue on them. He also located a glass pipe and several syringes. 

The pipe and the scales were field tested with a positive result for methamphetamine.

The driver stated that the items located were his. He told the Deputy that he used the syringes to shoot up meth.

The Deputy took the driver into custody and placed him on a 24 hour investigative hold. Charges are pending at this time.
