On Dec. 12 at approximately 2241 hours, a deputy with the Cass County Sheriff's office was dispatched to a one-vehicle crash on Missouri B, east of Connelly Lane in rural Cass County.
Upon arrival, the deputy located a Buick LeSabre, which had went off the roadway and was fully engulfed in flames.
Once the fire was extinguished, the driver of the vehicle was found inside and determined to be deceased by the Jackson County Medical Examiner. Next of kin was notified.
A sheriff’s office spokesman identified the driver who died as Miguel M. Torres, 23, of Archie. The fatal crash remains under investigation.
