Two Inmates Escape from Vernon County Jail

Two inmates have escaped from the Vernon County Jail according to Vernon County Sheriff’s Office officials. The two inmates have been identified as follows:

Timothy A McCullick
Age: 24
Height: 5.01
Weight: 145
Hair: Red
Eyes: Blue
Charges: Forgery with a bond of $1,500 cash or surety.

Christopher A Purgerson
Age: 19
Height: 5.10
Weight: 146
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue
Charges: Burglary & Steeling Forgery with a bond of $5,000 cash or surety


According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, the two inmates escaped early Sunday morning by breaking through the metal ceiling inside of a bathroom in the jail and then crawling through an air duct and kicking out the side of an air-conditioning unit located on the roof of the jail. 

The Sheriff said area law enforcement were notified and deputies and investigators were called in to search for the inmates. Investigators believe the inmates could be headed to Kansas. Anyone with information is asked to call the Vernon County Dispatch Center at (417) 667-6042
