Merle worked for Armco Steel for 23 years. After retirement he and his son, Michael started Worthley Delivery. Merle was well known for always keeping his vehicles in pristine condition. He loved old vehicles. In his retirement years he enjoyed camping with family. He loved driving his golf cart around the house and campground. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville.
If you ever had an electrical problem you could count on him to be right over to help. He never met a stranger. He loved teaching his grandkids things that weren't always grandma approved.
Merle was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger. Merle is survived by his wife Sandra of the home. Sons; William D. (Nancy), Battle Ground, WA. and Michael D. (Kelley), Harrisonville, MO. Grandchildren; Kali D., Karli D., Jacob, Mary, Kyle, Joseph D., Marissa D., Mason D. and he was a beloved uncle, and loved by many family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, MO with visitation one hour prior to service. Inurnment will follow at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Harrisonville United Methodist Church or to Crossroads Hospice and may be left in care of the Funeral Home.
