From the Benton County Sheriff's Office

Sgt. Wilson and Deputy Bishop responded to check on a vehicle partially parked in the northbound lane of Hwy 65 near Sieving Road around 0430 this morning. They found a white male identified as Jeremy Lees from KCMO passed out in the driver seat.

Mr. Lees is on P/P for controlled substance. Consent search done on Lees revealed 13.8 grams of methamphetamine and 7 Xanax pills were found in his pocket. Warrant to follow! Most of the meth in our county is being brought in rather than cooked because of the availability from outside sources.

Please stay vigilant in your neighborhood for someone cooking meth. Law Enforcement is doing their best to slow the flow of illegal narcotics into our county. When supply is interrupted, cooks will take the risk.

Anhydrous ammonia, starting fluid, the product Heet used as a fuel additive for gas, Coleman lantern fuel and other material cause a very noticeable smell in the air. Get involved! Call in suspicious odors and activities!
